Over these years dedicated to tattooing, I had the pleasure of getting my work featured in some books. Today I bring you a brief summary of all that books.
If you have the opportunity get them all while you can!
Invited by the tattoo artist Barnaby Titchener, from Oxford (England), this was the first book I’ve participated in with my work. My participation consisted of a reproduction of a flash by the legendary George Burchett.
This was my first self-published book. It was something I had been planning for some time. I’ve always painted a lot of flash and for that reason I already had a considerable collection of paintings and I thought some of them were worthy of being shared in physical format.
The first edition sold out practically during pre-sales and, a year later, I’ve decided to publish a second edition with a different cover.
Curated by the Italian tattoo artist Samuele Salvadori (a.k.a. Sem Boy Lee) and the artist Gilberto Cannarozzi, I had the pleasure of participating in the first volume of the book “STAY STONED”. This book is a compilation that features paintings by tattoo artists from all over the world with the most diverse styles. The theme of the book, of course, is the best-known plant in the universe.
If you like traditional tattoos, you certainly already know the famous cyanotypes (blue prints) by Percy Waters. Curated by Ryan Cooper Thompson, “THE BLUE BOOK” features a compilation of dozens of renowned artists such as Paul Dobleman, Francesco Ferrara, Chris Fernandez, Bobeus, Kim-Anh, Vince Pages, Joe Tartarotti, Andrew Vidakovich, Prof. York, and many more!
“TOUGH LOVE is a book that seeks to explore the relationship between strenght and beauty in traditional tattooing.”
This sentence served as a motto for more than 70 tattoo artists who participated in this book. Another excellent compilation, this time curated by the tattoo artist from Oklahoma (USA), Scott Huttenmaier.
Some new books are being cooked right now and I will publish them very soon!
Thank you for looking!
All the best,
André Silva
